Day 1 – Departure from Canada.


Day 2 – Arrive in Phnom Penh, Cambodia’s busy capital, and transfer to your hotel.  In the afternoon, you will explore the enticing sights of the former French Quarter by cyclo. End the day with a scrumptious welcome dinner at an NGO restaurant.


  

DAY 3


This morning expand your sense of history by visiting Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum to learn about the genocide perpetrated by the Khmer Rouge in the 1970s. In the afternoon, visit the National Museum & Royal Palace. After dinner, to complete this educational and enjoyable day, you will set off on a beautiful sunset boat cruise.


DAY 4


Today you will travel by coach to the Free the Bears Center to join the experienced team that looks after more than 120 sun & moon bears rescued from the illegal wildlife trade. Experience a 90 minute Khmer traditional dance workshop, followed by a magical after-dinner performance of dances from Khmer and different ethnic groups.

DAY 5


Depart Phnom Penh and travel several hours to Battambang with a stop at a pottery making village. In Battambang, walk to Phnom Sampov Hill for sunset views and soft drinks. In the evening, you will relish a local street food tour.


DAY 6


Today you will visit a local market, an arts gallery, and Phare Ponleu Selpak Circus and Performing Arts School to engage more fully with all the region offers. After lunch, take a tuk tuk tour and discover an array of home-made industries.


DAY 7


Depart Battambang and travel to Banteay Chhmar for an overnight homestay at the commune. Explore the charming village and awe-inspiring temples before an evening dinner at the temple grounds.

DAY 8


Take a 3 hour drive to Siem Reap, including a stop at an Angkor Silk farm. After a mid-afternoon orientation and pleasant walk, eat dinner at a Marum NGO restaurant.


Siem Reap is the gateway to the ruins of Angkor, the seat of the Khmer kingdom from the 9 th –15 th centuries. Angkor’s vast complex of intricate stone buildings includes the main temple of Angkor Wat, one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
