DAY 1

You will depart for an overnight flight from a Canadian airport.

DAY 2

Arriving in Reykjavik, you will meet your tour director, and embark on a tour of the Reykjanes Peninsula. The peninsula, with its diversity of volcanic and geothermal activity, is well suited to be a UNESCO Global Geopark and is the only place in the world where the Mid-Atlantic Ridge is visible above sea level. After dinner, transfer to your hotel.

DAY 3

Depart the hotel after breakfast to commence a tour of the Golden Circle. You will have a chance to visit three of the most famous attractions in Iceland: Thingvellir National Park, Geysir Geothermal Area, and Gullfoss Waterfall.

Thingvellir National Park is home to the rift valley which separates the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. Besides its unique geological features, it was also the original site of the first Icelandic parliament. The Park was also used as a location for several scenes in the Game of Thrones television series.

Geysir Geothermal Area is home to numerous hot springs, steam vents, and geysers. The second most famous geyser of the area, Strokker, erupts every 5 to 10 minutes, shooting water 20 to 40 metres into the air.

And Gullfoss Waterfall is one of the most spectacular sights in Iceland. With an overall height of 32 metres, the resulting spray often produces beautiful rainbows. Spend a night in the stunning Hvolsvollur area.

DAY 4

Today you will explore the South Coast, including visits to Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon, Skogafoss Waterfall, Dyrholaey & Reynisfjara Rocks. Then you will overnight near the Glacier Lagoon.

Visiting Iceland is like travelling to another world. Here you will see amazing geological formations, geysers, waterfalls, glaciers, and black sand beaches. Make sure to bring your swimsuit, as you will also have the opportunity to take a dip in the Secret Lagoon geothermal pool.

Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon is one of the most awe inspiring natural attractions in Iceland. Skogafoss Waterfall is 25 metres wide and 60 metres high.

It also produces rainbows on sunny days, sometimes even double ones!

And Dyrholaey is a large natural stone arch on the southern end of Iceland. Nearby, one can also see the Reynisfjara Rocks, stone stacks that rise out of the ocean.

DAY 5

This morning, you will enjoy a guided walk on Vatnajokull Glacier. After lunch, you will travel to Vik, a remote seafront village where you will spend the night.

Vatnajokull Glacier is the one of the biggest glaciers in Iceland and one of the largest in all of Europe and is safe for walking on. Vatnajokull National Park is the largest protected area in all of Europe, featuring such geological attractions as a glacier covered volcano, a black pebble beach, and basalt columns.

DAY 6

After breakfast, you will travel from Vik to Reykjavik with a stop at the Secret Lagoon. The Secret Lagoon has been kept in a very natural state but also has changing rooms and an area to purchase snacks and beverages. The water stays at a temperature of 38 to 40˚ C.

DAY 7

You will depart from Reykjavik having enjoyed many one-of-a-kind experiences.
